Ambassador Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov paid a courtesy call on Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Koichi Hagiuda.
During the meeting, they discussed the development of cooperation in the field of pre-school and higher education, strengthening of human resources and mutual collaboration on the establishment of schools in Uzbekistan that meet Japanese standards. It was also agreed to establish a joint educational institution in Uzbekistan and to implement scientific and academic projects.
He had a meeting with Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Minister Aso congratulated the Republic of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of its independence and the success of the Uzbekistan national team athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Minister Aso fondly shared his memories of the fruitful meeting with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the further development of bilateral cooperative relations.
During his visit to Nagoya, he met with President Seiichi Matsuo of Nagoya University, Director Akira Yamauchi of Asia Satellite Campus Institute, and Vice President Kiyohisa Nishiyama of Tashkent National Institute of Technology.
Discussions were held on the progress of the implementation of the mutual agreement signed during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in December 2019, new areas of bilateral exchange, as well as the improvement of the activities of the Uzbekistan-Japan Youth Innovation Center.
We agreed to speed up the implementation of joint projects, such as inviting 15 professors and 50 students from Japan, holding the next President's Forum, and inviting Professor Hiroshi Amano, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics.
At the World Environment Summit held in December 2021, the issue of the Aral Sea was taken up and a call was made to Japan and the rest of the world.
The government of Uzbekistan also proactively addressed the Aral Sea issue, raised it to the world, and expressed its willingness to take the lead in solving the problem.
